The fact that Spurs reached the final in the first place is no great surprise, they’ve become something of a cup specialist in recent seasons, doing well in competitions domestically and on the continent.
However, to win the Carling Cup is something completely different. Yes, win. It is a strange notion to many fans, particularly those too young to remember the “glory years” most supporters frequently reminisce about.
